The sun tarot card

Daily Draw: Here Comes the Sun!

What do I need to know or focus on for today?

Here comes the sun, the 19th card of the Major Arcana. The sun card is pretty much universally regarded as one of the most positive cards in the tarot. It’s bright, it’s vibrant, and it radiates positivity and good vibes. What a fabulous way to start a Monday!

The Card

In the card we see a child wearing only a whimsical crown of flowers with a goofy feather poking out. This child’s nakedness is innocence and happiness. The sun is prominent and radiant- what a beautiful day! Happy little sunflowers dot the top of the wall and symbolize growth. The naked baby is riding a white horse representing purity, and is not at all the same red-eyed nightmare horse we see in the death card. The child holds onto a red banner. How is that kid holding up that banner? It can’t be light, and kids are notoriously weak. It must be all the positive energy of the giant sun shining down, which can only mean that this kid is baby Kal-El aka Superman. Of course I kid, but the card is exceedingly joyful and encourages play.

Let’s talk about you!

Some keywords to remember, and maybe you’ve picked up on them already, are positivity, joy, fun, success, innocence, and boundless energy. Think about kids at a playground. They are running around screaming their heads off and having a blast- that’s the energy that’s coming into your life (minus the children, probably). Prosperity is on the horizon, vitality is increased, and you radiate positive energy and good vibes just like the sun. Find time to have fun, to play! Fun in the sun! Don’t forget the sunscreen.

How do I see it?

The sun leapt out at me while I shuffled today and cards that leap out are cards to pay attention to. Your deck is trying to tell you something or draw your attention to the energy of the card. I do have some fun times ahead. I have a meeting with a local brewery coming up, the Excelsior Springs Fall Fest on the 5th, and tarot readings on the porch at Weston Wine Company start this Sunday! Time to tap into my positive energy and connect with people. I still have stuff on my checklist, but I couldn’t be more excited to get to it.

Questions to consider

  • When was the last time I did something fun? And what was it?
  • How can I connect with my inner child?
  • What makes me feel happy, positive, and free?
